Global Solidarity Partnership program, through the CRS gives the United
States Catholics the opportunity to
builds strong long-term relationships with partners overseas. The program works through a
team of volunteers from both the U.S. partner and the partner overseas.
Parishioners in the U.S. are directly engage with people from different
culture. Parishioners provide support to the people in
their partner country who struggle for food security, clean water, good
health, economic security, and education for their children.
Catholic
Relief Services Madagascar Update
The Madagascar
Global Partnership visit that had been scheduled to take place in June
2008 will instead be in June 2009 due to a major reorganization by the
Unites States Catholic Relief Services offices.
The office in
Chicago will undertake the responsibility for supporting partnerships
between Midwestern dioceses and the dioceses in other countries. A Team
of Social Action staff and volunteers will be attending a meeting in
Chicago on April 8-10 to learn about the support CRS will provide in the
coming year.
