Catholic Relief Services is the official overseas relief and
development agency of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops
(USCCB) that operates in 98 countries providing emergency relief
and long-term assistance to help people become more
self-sufficient. |

| May 31 | Submit CRS Rice Bowl Collection | All parishes: Please submit all CRS Rice Bowl funds to the Finance Office by May 31, 2013. The 25% local share grants will be decided on June 28 and we would like to have a full accounting of the 2013 CRS Rice Bowl campaign. Please be sure to clearly mark that the funds are for CRS Rice Bowl. If you have any questions please contact Kathy McCoy at 563-355-6347. |

CRS Rice Bowl Local Grant |
The project requesting funds must be operated within the geographical boundaries of the Diocese of Davenport. Projects must conform to the social teachings of the Catholic Church. The project requesting funds provides direct services to alleviate poverty and hunger in the Diocese of Davenport. All grants must be postmarked by May 31st in order to be considered at the June Board Meeting.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development Local Grant |
In November each year, Catholic parishes across the U.S. take up a second collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD). Of the funds collected in the Diocese of Davenport, 25% becomes available for distribution to projects within the diocese. All grants must be postmarked by May 31st in order to be considered at the June Board Meeting. |

| Sep 15 | St. Vincent's Home Corporation Grant Deadline | Grants focus on projects providing general care of and assistance to children who are in special need. Applicants are to be located with in the 22 counties of the Diocese of Davenport or serve children within the Diocese of Davenport. Grant Criteria |

Bulletin Inserts |
All parishes should insert the CCHD Bulletin and display their poster the weekend before the collection. For more information contact Loxi Hopkins-CCHD Diocesan Director at 563-888-4212 |
| Nov 23-24 | CCHD Collection | The national collection takes place the Sunday before Thanksgiving. The Diocese retains 25% of the proceeds to fight poverty with in our own diocese. |
