Take Action: CRS Care for the Environment
 

The Farm Bill and Supplemental Nutrition Support will be the topic of the next Lunch and Learn.  The Farm Bill, one of the most significant pieces of legislation Congress must deal with, consists of 12 titles or sections.  Title IV, Nutrition, includes SNAP--formerly Food Stamps, which is the pre-eminent supplemental food program in the US, predominantly reaching millions of children, elderly, and disabled persons.  To understand where the Farm Bill and SNAP fit into our national budget, we will look briefly at the total national budget before zeroing in Title IV.
 

Social Action Monthly Lunch and Learn is held the First Thursday of the month at noon.  For those not available at that particular time, the session will be recorded and available on the Diocesan YouTube channel.  In addition, The Catholic Messenger will publish a series of articles on the experience.
