Every two years the Office of Faith Formation presents two awards to recognize outstanding Catholic youth and adult leaders for their leadership and contributions to the development of Catholic youth ministry.
The ST. TIMOTHY AWARD
This award recognizes high school youth who exemplify St. Paul’s instructions to Timothy:
“Let no one have contempt for your youth, but set an example for those who believe, in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. Until I arrive, attend to the reading, exhortation, and teaching. Do not neglect the gift you have, which was conferred on you through the prophetic word with the imposition of hands of the presbyterate. Be diligent in these matters, be absorbed in them, so that your progress may be evident to everyone. Attend to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in both tasks, for by doing so you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.” Timothy 4:12-16
St. Timothy Award recipients live as disciples of Christ, witness to their Catholic faith, demonstrate Gospel values, and exhibit Christian leadership.
The ST. DON BOSCO Companion on the Journey AWARD
This award recognizes adults who exemplify St. Paul’s words to the Romans:
"But how can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach? And how can people preach unless they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news!” Romans 10:14-15
The St. Don Bosco “Companions on the Journey” Award recipient lives as a disciple of Christ, announces and preaches the Good News of Jesus Christ to youth through his/her words and life, and, in doing so, makes a significant contribution to the development of comprehensive youth ministry in their parish or Catholic school community.
